In March 2017 Nenad and Ueli meet at Billabong Winterthur for a first conversation as a result of an advertisement by Nenad on *music.ch*. They rehearse together twice and In addition, many other experienced parallels emerge. Both miss the band life after a long family break. The chemistry is right. All right, now a band room has to be found.
In May 2017 they find a band room for joint use in Embrach. They search for keyboarder and bassist. Svenja (electric piano) and Maggs (bass) join them. First songs are created and old songs from former times are newly arranged.
In November the band name " G.M.R " is chosen from various suggestions.
A new band room is found in Fehraltorf and from January 2018 on it gets expanded and equipped with great commitment. The room is put into service.
A singer is sought. By chance a singer named Alexandra (Alex) is found in May, who can be inspired by our music.
Svenja and Maggs separate from G.M.R. in September 2018 and soon the bassist Marc is found and proves to be the ideal complement.
In November Alex goes on a 4-month journey and wishes for her return, that the keyboard will be occupied again until then. No easy task, as it unfortunately turns out.
In December 2018 Ueli writes to ex-band keyboarder Peti and he becomes the ideal addition to G.M.R., as he has also co-composed several songs from earlier times.
Alex is back in April 2019 and the band completes the songs to a set of 13.
G.M.R. "wants to know it" and decides in July, to play the first gig at the AA Jam in Aadorf with invited guests to give a first taste on stage.
November 2nd, "G.M.R" have its world premiere. This is a great experience for everyone.
Now the band has consolidated and continues to work on demo recordings, new songs, homepage etc.
In 2020 there are no concerts to think about because of Covid-19. That's why the band tries to record a few songs in the rehearsal room and mix them themselves. The first demo recordings are made.
In January 2021 an additional singer, Sarah, joins the G.M.R family. Unfortunately we can't rehearse together at the moment because of Covid-19 and we are curious ourselves how the two voices will complement each other.
For private reasons, Sarah unfortunately leaves the band in July 2021. We will miss her great commitment.
At the beginning of May 2022, the band will find a new singer in Michael. With his classical vocal training and long stage experience, he will certainly be able to set new accents. Alex concentrates on her daughter and the family and hardly has time for the rehearsals. That's why she leaves the band.
In November 2022, Michael leaves the band.
In early August 2023, Roger will join the band as a new singer.
